W., daughter, white, female, born April 1898, age 2, single, born in Alabama Per the 1920 US Census, daughter-in-law, Anna (Royce's widow), age 23, is living with Royce's mother (names Selini) and his siblings still living at home. Per the 1930 US Census, Selina (Royce's mother) is living with son, Walter, (born about 1904), his wife, Anna W., age 33 (wonder if this is Royce's widow?) their children, Mary, age 7, James H., age 4 11/12, Walter H., age 3 4/12, Lawrence E, 11/12, his brother, Randall (born about 1907), and Walter's mother-in-law, Sarah Merritt, age 74. Per the WWI Draft Registration Cards: Royce Grady Arnold was born January 29, 1896 in Headland, Henry County, Alabama. At the time of his registration (1917), he was 21 years old, a natural-born citizen working as a farmer for his mother. He claimed his mother and brother as dependents, relying on him for support, and claimed an exemption to being drafted because of his family's dependence on him. He was of medium height, with a stout build, light blue eyes, and dark-brown hair.
