This file was contributed and copyrighted by: Winnette Stinson ================================================================================ October 2002 Robert S Parker Dies at Age 100 Robert S Parker, a Henry County Native who lived through the world's most turbulent century, died Saturday Dec 16, 1952, at his residence 423 Young Street, Thomasville, Georgia at the age of 100. He was born May 4, 1852 and started a biological traditon that has carried through for five generations. The first-born in each of five generations of the Parker family has been a boy. At a family reunion on his 100th birthday last May , Mr. Parker posed with other first-born of the five generations-his son, William W Parker of Ochlocknee, his grandson, Frank Parker of Grady Co, his great-grandson William C Parker,26, of Cairo, and great-great grandson Keith Parker age 2 son of William C Parker. Mr.Parker has been living with his daughter and grand-daughter, Mrs. Clarence Dupree and Miss Eddie Bell Hess. He was a member of Bold Springs Methodist Church. Survivors include his daughter Nancy Parker Dupree, Vinnie(Melvina) Parker White both of Thomasville; 17 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; and 16 great-great grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held at 4:20 pm today at Bold Springs Methodist Church in rural Grady County, with burial in the Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jeff Golden, Steve Watkins, A.N. Tuck, and Gerald Tuck. Whiddon Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
