J. Reynolds and wife Laura Reynolds for and in consideration of the sum of One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00) to us in hand paid by J. E. Crawford, the receipt whereof we do hereby acknowledge, do hereby grant, bargain, sell, enfeoff, and confirm and convey unto the said J. E. Crawford the following described real estate, lying in the County of Houston, State of Alabama, to-wit: NW 1/4 of SW 1/4, Section 15 and NE 1/4 of SE 1/4, Section 16, Township 3, Range 24, containing Eighty (80) acres more or less. To have and to hold the aforegranted premises to the said J. E. Crawford his heirs and assigns forever. And we do covenant with the said J. E. Crawford, his heirs and assigns, that we are lawfully seized in fee of the aforegranted premises; that they are free from all incumbrances; that we have a good right to sell and convey the same to the said J. E. Crawford, his heirs and assigns, and that we will warrant and defend the premises to the said J. E. Crawford, his heirs and assigns forever, against the lawful claims and demands of all persons. In witness whereof, we, the said W. J. and Laura V. Reynolds, have hereunto set our hands and seals this 4th day of November in the year of our Lord 1909. W. J. Reynolds Laura V. Reynolds, whose name is signed to the foregoing conveyance, and who is known to me, acknowledged before me on this day that, being informed of the contents of the conveyance, he executed the same voluntarily on the day the same bears date. Jones, a Justice of the Peace in and for the County and State aforesaid, do hereby certify that on the 4th day of November 1909, came before me the within named Laura V. Reynolds, known to me to be the wife of the within named W. J. Reynolds, who, being examined separate and apart from her husband, touching her signature to the foregoing conveyance, acknowledged that she signed the same of her own free will and accord, and without fear, constraint, or threats on the part of her husband.
