Black, Supt. of Sycamore Plant was born October 8, 1898 in Lincoln, N.C. He is the son of Charlie and Maggie Black. He attended the public school of Lincoln and has had an I.C.S. course in carding and spinning. Before coming with the Avondale Mills, Mr. Black was employed by the Saratoga Victory Mills of Guntersville, Ala., for eleven years as Overseer of Carding and Spinning. He was overseer of Carding and Spinning in Avondale's Sycamore Plant seven months before becoming Supt. of that plant in June 1943. Charles L. Black was married to Dorothy Roberts on Oct. 11, 1924 and they have two children...(Article cut off) Additional Comments: I have a collection of obituary articles that were cut out of Alabama newspapers, and found in the Archives.
