Funeral services will 3:00 p.m. Sunday, August 29, 2010 at Clearman Chapel of Southern Heritage Funeral Home with Reverend Orrin Barrett and Reverend Tim Willis officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Pleasant Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Ardilla with Southern Heritage Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 p.m.until 3:00 p.m, Sunday, August 29, 2010 prior to the services. Serving as active pallbearers will be Ricky Davis, Frankie Jackson, Buddy Skeen, John Sanchez, Van Smith and Shane Roselius. Born in Webb, Al, Mr. Davis was a son of the late Mace Frank and Docie Joiner Davis. He served in the U.S. Army and helped to build the Panama Canal Zone. He retired from Burlington Industries and Ansell Corporation and was a member of the Mount Pleasant Primitive Baptist Church of Dothan. The family would like to extend our appreciation to the nurses and staff of Covenant Hospice for their wonderful care of our loved one. Flowers are accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Covenant Hospice, 2855 Ross Clark Circle, Suite 110, Dothan, AL 36301. In addition to his parents Mr. Davis was preceded in death by his wife of fifty-four years, Aalur Davis and son Elbert Franklin Davis, Jr. and several brothers and sisters. Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons and daughters-in-law, Frank & Charlotte Davis, Dothan, Al, and Rick & Diane Davis, Tuscaloosa; a brother Joe Davis (Marie), Rehobeth; a sister, Docie West, Dothan; five grandchildren, Bill Davis (Tania), Dothan, Ricky Davis and Kristi Davisof Tuscaloosa, Amy Roselius, Dothan and Libby Sanchez, Dothan; four great grandchildren, Katherine Davis, Drew Roselius, Frankie Jackson, Matthew Sanchez all of Dothan.
