Brother Alvie Gilley died in a Dothan hospital on Dec. 18, 1972, at the age of 
84.  He leaves a wife and many relatives to mourn his passing.  He was a member 
of Goodwater Church, where funeral services were conducted by the writer and 
[also by] Minister J. T. Peacock, with interment in the adjoining cemetery, on 
Dec. 20, 1972.  [Brother Alvie] was a resident of this section his entire life 
and lived a quiet and peaceful life. – J. J. Collins
