Fowler ==================================================================== March 1999 The Dothan Eagle, Tuesday, June 10, 1980 NEWTON - Horace Lee, 79, of Newton Rt. 1, died Monday afternoon in a Dothan hospital following a brief illness. Funeral services for Mr. Lee will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in the Piney Grove Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Terry Summerlin officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Ward-Wilson Brown-Service Funeral Home directing. Full military rites will be conducted at the gravesite. The body will be at the funeral home until one hour prior to service time, when it will be placed in the church. The family will be at the Clarence Lee home on Newton Rt. 1 - US Hwy. 84. A native of Houston County, he resided in the Wicksburg area during his early life. He then entered the US Army and served 31 years in the service prior to his retirement in 1959. At the time of his retirement he was a master sergeant. He attended the Piney Grove Assembly of God Church. Survivors include two brothers, Clarence Lee of Newton Rt. 1 and Espy Lee of Jay, Fla.; two sisters, Mrs. Eunice Ard of Warner Robins, Ga.; and Mrs. Lessie Tindall of Thomaston, Ga.; and several nieces and nephews. (Did Horace Lee ever marry and have children? Who were his parents, and his Lee grandparents? My grandmother Fowler's maiden name was Lee. Her father was Timothy Cuthbert Lee II, however, Horace Lee does not descend from him.)
