We learn with much regret that in the fearful railroad wreck in Georgia last
week, Mr. W.P. McGriff, one of Columbia’s most prominent citizens and merchants
was killed.  Mr. McGriff, was on his way to Savannah to buy goods when he met
his awful death.  He leaves a wife and several small children to mourn his
untimely death.
