They are buried at Winslette Chapel Methodist Church (formerly known as Piney Grove Church). WILL OF W. J. REYNOLDS, DECEASED STATE OF ALABAMA HOUSTON COUNTY KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS That I, W. J. Reynolds, a resident of said state and county, being in sound mind and disposing memory, and realizing the uncertainty of life and the certainty of death, for the purpose of disposing of all my real and personal property of every kind and description including what money I may have on hand, and all chosen in activity of which I may die, seize and possess, do make and publish this, my last will and testament, by the terms of which it is intended to dispose of all said property at the time of my death. FIRST: It is my will and desire that all my just debts which I may owe at the time of my death, including Doctor's bill, reasonable burial expenses and suitable tomb stone shall first be paid out of my estate. SECOND: It is my will and desire, and I so bequeath, that if my present beloved wife, Lura V. Reynolds shall outlive me, that she shall have possession and control of all my real estate, including my house and lot in the City of Dothan, and a sufficient number of my livestock and personal property to operate the farm thereon for her support during the remainder of her natural life and the disposition of my real estate as herein designated shall be postponed until the date of her death provided she outlives me. Then it shall become operative and my estate divided in accordance with the provisions hereof, except that my executors may sell and dispose of such live stock and personal property as they may determine will not be necessary to keep for the maintenance of said farm for my said wife. THIRD: I will and bequeath that after the death of my beloved wife, Lura V. Reynolds, that all my real estate and personal property and chosen in action be sold by executors hereinafter named and the proceeds thereof including such money as may be on hand divided equally share and share alike between all my beloved sons and daughters as follows: W. C. Reynolds, G. C. Reynolds, Dovie Hollis, R. E. Reynolds, B. H. Reynolds, Annie L. Reynolds, and Stella Maude Hollis. FOURTH: It is my will and desire, and I hereby nominate and appoint my beloved sons W. C. Reynolds and G. C. Reynolds executors of this will to qualify as such executors and dispose of my said estate according to the provisions of this will without resorting to the courts and as in their judgment the same may be best sold and that they shall qualify and execute this will without bond. Poyner, Judge of Probate in and for Houston County, Alabama, personally appeared in open court Annie Reynolds, who having been by me first duly sworn and examined, did depose and say as follows: My name is Annie Reynolds, I am 43 years of age and reside in Houston County, Alabama. I am the daughter of W. J. Reynolds, who died in Houston County, Alabama, on January 4, 1943. I know the handwriting of W. J. Reynolds and I have seen him write and I am familiar with his handwriting and his signature. There is now shown to me an instrument in writing purporting to be the last will and testament of W. J. Reynolds, deceased, and purporting to be witnessed and attested to by the witnesses, H. D. Ard and Otis Gilbert and bearing date of execution of February 20, 1933. Prior to February 20, 1933, or on February 20, 1933, I prepared this instrument at the request of my father, W. J. Reynolds and shortly after February 20, 1933, I saw this instrument in my father's possession and at that time it had the true signature of my father, W. J. Reynolds, on the same and had the signature of H. D. Ard and Otis Gilbert on the same. The signature "W. J. Reynolds" on said instrument is in the handwriting of my father and is the true signature of W. J. Reynolds my father. My father, during his lifetime, kept this written instrument among his other papers at his home in Houston County, and at various times, I saw this instrument among his papers and after his death it was found among his papers in a cedar chest or trunk and I was present when it was found. REYNOLDS, DECEASED Present the Honorable S. P. Poyner, Judge of Probate: Before me, S. P. Poyner, Judge of Probate in and for Houston County, Alabama, personally appeared in open Court G. C. Reynolds who having been by me first duly sworn and examined did depose and say as follows: My name is G. C. Reynolds and I am 54 years of age and reside in Houston County, Alabama. I knew W. J. Reynolds in his lifetime; he died in Houston County, Alabama, on January 4, 1943; his wife, Lura V. Reynolds, died in Houston County, Alabama on to-wit: December 13, 1942. At the time of the death of W. J. Reynolds he resided in Houston County, Alabama and he died leaving assets in Houston County, Alabama. I knew the handwriting of W. J. Reynolds, I have seen him write and I am familiar with his handwriting and with his signature. There is now shown to me an instrument in writing purporting to be the last will and testament of W. J. Reynolds, deceased and purporting to be attested to and witnessed by the witnesses, H. D. Ard and Otis Gilbert, and said instrument bears date of execution of February 20, 1933. I know the witness H. D. Ard; he is now a non-resident of the State of Alabama and now resides outside of the State of Alabama. At the present time he resides at and his post office address is Thomaston, Georgia, in the State of Georgia. I know the handwriting of H. D. Ard, I have seen him write and I know his signature. H. D. Ard is absent from the State of Alabama. I know the witness, Otis Gilbert. He is not a non-resident of the State of Alabama and now resides outside the State of Alabama and he now resides at and his post office address is Umatilla, Florida in the State of Florida. Otis Gilbert is absent from the State of Alabama. I now examine the instrument in writing exhibited to me and purported to be the last will and testament of W. J. Reynolds, deceased, which was filed for probate in this court on the 30th day of January, 1943, and which purports to bear date of execution of February 20, 1933 and purports to have been executed by W. J. Reynolds and witnessed by H. D. Ard and Otis Gilbert. I have examined carefully the name and signature in writing of "W. J. Reynolds" which appears at the end of the FIFTH paragraph of said instrument and the name of "W. J. Reynolds" appearing on said will at the end of the FIFTH paragraph thereof is in the true handwriting of W. J. Reynolds. W. J. Reynolds was my father. After his death on January 4, 1943, the instrument in writing purporting to be his last will and testament and bearing date of execution of February 20, 1933, and purporting to be his last will and testament and bearing date of execution of February 20, 1933, and purporting to be witnessed by H. D. Ard and Otis Gilbert was found by me and Ben H. Reynolds in the trunk of W. J. Reynolds at his home along with other papers belonging to W. J. Reynolds, said purported last will and testament was in the possession of W. J. Reynolds at the time of his death. I have examined the writing appearing on said instrument after the word "witness" where I find the words "H. D. Ard" and said writing is in the handwriting of H. D. Ard and is the handwriting of H. D. Ard and said signature "H. D. Ard" is the true signature and handwriting of H. D. Ard. I knew W. J. Reynolds on the 20th day of February, 1933, and at the time he was over the age of 21 years and was of sound mind and disposing memory. I knew H. D. REYNOLDS, DECEASED Present the Honorable S. P. Poyner, Judge of Probate: Before me, S. P. Poyner, Judge of Probate in and for Houston County, Alabama, personally appeared in open Court W. H. Gilbert who having been first by me duly sworn and examined did depose and say as follows: My name is W. H. Gilbert, I am 59 years of age and reside in Houston County, Alabama. I knew W. J. Reynolds in his lifetime. W. J. Reynolds is dead and died in Houston County, Alabama, on the 4th day of January, 1943. I know Otis Gilbert and I knew him on the 20th day of February, 1933. I have seen Otis Gilbert write and I know his handwriting and I know his true signature. Otis Gilbert is now a non-resident of the State of Alabama and resides outside the State of Alabama and his place of residence and post office address is Umatilla, Florida. There is now shown to me a certain instrument in writing, purporting to be the last will and testament of W. J. Reynolds, deceased and purporting to have been executed by W. J. Reynolds on the 20th day of February, 1933, and bearing the date of execution of February 20, 1933, and which said written instrument purports to have been witnessed or attested by the witnesses H. D. Ard and Otis Gilbert. The name of W. J. Reynolds in writing appears on said instrument at the end of the FIFTH paragraph thereof and thereafter on said instrument and on the same page thereof appears the words: "Witness: H. D. Ard and Otis Gilbert." The words "H. D. Ard and Otis Gilbert" are written on said instrument. I have examined the words "Otis Gilbert" and they are in the writing of Otis Gilbert and the words "Otis Gilbert" are the true signature and handwriting of Otis Gilbert. W. H.
