Progressive Age February 13, 1890

Mr. Hiliar died on Monday the 9th at the residence of his son D. T. Rousseau at 
the ripe old age of 88 years.  Mr Rousseau was born in Wilkes Co., NC 6-02-
1802.  He moved to Fayetteville, TN in 1825 and six years later he moved to 
this county, where he lived a quiet useful life for 65 years.  During the last 
eight years of his life he was a consistent member of the Christian Church.  
The remains were interred in the family burying ground on the premises of Mr. 
D. T. Rousseau, near Garth on Tuesday of this week.  One by one the landmarks 
are removed.
