Rousseau of Garth, deceased at the residence of Mr. Sam J. Hamlett, where he was stopping during the term of Commissioner's Court. Mr. Rousseau left home on Sunday, the 13th inst, to attend a term of the Commissioner's Court of which he was a member, during the following week. On Wednesday morning he was quite ill and was compelled to take to his bed. His illness continued with but little change until a short time before death came. In the meantime his son was summoned from home to attend his father. However but little importance was attached to the condition of Mr. Rousseau until the night of the 21st inst when a messenger was sent to summon the other members of the family to the dying man's bedside. He died before his wife and other relatives reached him. The remains were carried to Paint Rock and from there conveyed to the home of the deceased where burial took place in the family burying ground. In the death of Mr. Rousseau the community and county lose a most excellent citizen. Additional Comments: Son of Hillaire & Lucretia Jennings Rousseau.
