Price was born abt. 1796 in North Carolina. He married Susannah Reece born abt 1813 in South Carolina on 02 May 1826 in Blount County. He joined Milton's Arty' Company - Smith's Regiment Al Mounted Vols. during the Creek War from 28 May 1836 - 27 July 1836. They lived in Blount County, Alabama until about 1842 moved to the Clay/Pinson area in Jefferson County where they both lived until their deaths. He was literate and sent his children to school according to his 1860 census record. They had twelve children of which eight (I believe) were born in Blount County, and the last four in Jefferson County. Their children were: Jeremiah Jesse b: abt 1827 d: 1864 in the Civil War William Jackson b: 31 Mar 1828 d: 08 Nov. 1904 Pinson, Jefferson Co., Al Rose Mary b: 1832 d: ? Mooresville, Ms Nancy Ann b: 1834 d: ? Jefferson Co., Al John C. b: 1835 d: bef 1880 in Lee Co., Ms Bazzle R. b: 1838 d: 1917 Ark. Elijah Oliver b: 15 Dec 1839 d: 05 Dec 1902 Ark. George Washington b: 31 Jan 1841 d: 10 Feb 1907 Clay, Jefferson Co., Al Edward J. b: 1843 d: Feb 1936 Montgomery Co., AL James Rufus b: 12 Oct 1847 d: 06 Feb 1902 Pinson, Jefferson Co., AL. Susanna Catherine b: 30 Oct 1850 d: 17 Oct 1937 Garvin Co., OK Lucinda Jane b: 1852 d: ?? William A Price had at least 4 sons who fought in the Civil War, Jeremiah Jesse, Elijah Oliver, Bazzel R., and George Washington Price. His son Edward J. enlisted in Co C 20th Alabama Infantry but was discharged a few months later due to a hearing problem. His eldest son, Jeremiah Jesse was killed in the war sometime in 1864. He purchased some of Jesse's land the 4th day of February 1967 which was being sold on the courthouse steps by the estate adminstrator to pay Jesse's debts. He died shortly after this as he does not appear on the 1870 census records.
