Morris Cemetery began with a two-acre tract donation by James Henry Eaton (pre civil war) which was known as Eaton Cemetery. This section is called the Main Cemetery and is located west of Stout's Road. 2. Kimberly New Addition was donated, the name Eaton Cemetery was dropped and the cemetery became known as the Morris Cemetery. This section is north of the Main Cemetery on Stout's Road and Trotter's Way. 3. George Rogers donated a section next to Trotter's Way (in 2007 east of Mortimer Jordan High School) that is known as the George Rogers Addition. 4. In the 1940's Clifton Hill donated a section on the west side of Stouts Road and south of Westland Lane (formerly known as Mosley Road), which became know as the Clifton Hill Addition. 5. The property that housed the Church of Christ east of Stouts road was donated to the cemetery in the 1930s after fire destroyed the church – deeds to cemetery lots were issued through the church. 6. The McCurry Corner was donated by J.D. Saddler's wife and is the only section to the North of Westland Lane. 7. A part of the George Rogers Addition was exchanged for a section belonging to Mark Hill that adjoins the old cemetery. 8. A section east of the cemetery is NOT a part of the Morris Cemetery at present, but the graves found there are listed at the end of this list. In April, 2007, I was told that there are plans for these lots to become a part of the Morris Cemetery, but plans have not been completed at the time of this survey submittal.
