Grimes who died intestate The State of Alabama Jefferson County Court of Probate Petition of E. A. Harrison for Letters of Administration upon the estate of James Grimes deceased. To the Hon. Jno. C. Morrow Judge Probate Court said County: The petition of the undersigned E. A. Harrison respectfully represents that James Grimes departed this life at his home in said County on or about the 13 day of September 1882 leaving no last will or testament, so far as your petitioner know or believe and that death was known more than fifteen days before this day: and this petition further shows that the said James Grimes was at the time of his death an inhabitant of this county Jefferson and died seized and possessed of real and personal estate in his State Alabama consisting chiefly of one mare, two cows, three head of sheep and household goods and one hundred and fifty acres of land all of said personal and real estate being estimated to be worth about two hundred and probably not more; that the names, residences, ages and condition of the heirs and distributees of the estate of the said decedent, so far as your petitioner knows and believes, are as follows, to wit: W. A. GRIMES, son of Decd., Elizabeth F., wife of E. S. MARTIN, daughter of Decd., James A. GRIMES, son of Decd., Hezekiah CALDWELL, grandson of Decd. (son of Malinda Caldwell, daughter of Decd. Whose husband's name was Joseph Caldwell, both of whom are now dead) all of whom are over twenty one years of age and reside at Columbiana, Ala. Martha A., wife of James ISBEL, daughter of Decd over twenty one years old and who resides at New Market, Madison County, Ala. T. J., wife of Monroe ELMORE, daughter of Decd, who is over twenty one years of age and who resides at New Market, Madison County, Alabama. R. B., wife of Burt BURNS, daughter of Decd, who resides at McCalla, Alabama, Mary M., wife of Henry BUNN, daughter of Decd, who is over twenty one years old and who resides at Montevallo, Alabama, T. J., wife of E. A. HARRISON (your petitioner), daughter of Decd, who is over twenty one years old and who resides at Pratt Mines, Alabama. J. G. GRIMES, son of Decd, who is over twenty one years old and resides in Moser County, Texas. H. C., wife of Doug J. FAGGARD, daughter of Decd, over twenty one years of age and who resides at Helena, Ala. that your petitioner, being the husband of T. J. Harrison daughter of deceased, an inhabitant of this State, above the age of twenty-one years, and no respect disqualified under the law from serving as an administrator, believing that the said estate should be immediately administered, to the end that the said property may be collected and preserved for those who shall appear to have a legal interest therein, do therefore, by virtue of my right under the statute pray that your Honor will grant Letters of Administration on said estate to your petitioner upon his entering into bond in such sum as is required by the statute, and with security or securities to be approved by your Honor.
