Clark Jones Old Chancery Court - 10th Judicial District Box 8659 - Breach of Contract The suit was brought by Mary to recover property promised her in a separation agreement signed by her and by her husband. Genealogical info from file: Mary McCreary married C. Clark Jones 16 Jan 1904 in Birmingham AL. They separated Sep. 1910 and signed an agreement that she would get all the household furnishings and kitchen implements. They would cosign to sell the house and lot, and five additional vacant lots. Then he went to Chicago, she went to Oklahoma to her sister's house. One child of the marriage, Mary Elizabeth Jones, 4 in 1910. Clark Jones was a furniture salesman who worked first for the Drennen furniture company, and then for Pizitz, a local department store in Birmingham. The file said Clark had six brothers over 21 at this time, and another, age 13, was still at home with their mother. Four of the brothers were named: Mack Jones, Sparks Jones, Felix Jones, and Mell Jones. Mary won a separate suit against them for forceably taking her belongings from her home.
