All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/al/alfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Lanelle Hanke lhbham@yahoo.com October 21, 2005, 4:47 pm Tuscaloosa Land District - Jefferson Co AL Written: September 9, 1839 Recorded: September 23, 1839 (Volume 7 page 216 - Jefferson County AL Deed Book) This Indenture, made and entered into this ninth day of September A.D. 1839, between James Dickinson and Nancy Dickinson his wife of the first part, and Joseph Ayres Jr. of the second part, all of the County of Jefferson and State of Alabama Witnesseth: that the said party of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of Two Thousand Dollars in hand paid to the said party of the first part, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged they the said party of the first part have granted, bargained, sold and conveyed and doth by these presents grant, bargain, sell and convey unto the said party of the second part, the following described tracts of land to wit: The West half of the North West quarter of Section twenty five, Township 18 of Range four West. Also the North West quarter of the North East quarter of the same Sec. To & Range. Also all that part of the South East quarter of Section 24 in the same To. & Range not heretofore deeded to John Hill, containing about eighty eight acres, all in the District of Tuskaloosa[sic]. To have and to hold the same together with the tenements and appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining unto the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns forever. And the said party of the first part for themselves their heirs, executors and administrators do warrant and will forever defend the title of the above described and hereby granted premises unto him, said party of the second part, and his heirs and assigns free from the claim or claims of all persons whatever and against the claim of the General Government. In testimony whereof the said party of the first part have hereunto set their hand and affixed their seals the date above written.
