Hanke lhbham@yahoo.com December 12, 2007, 7:04 pm Written: 1914 Chancery Court Case #8067, Box 8609 Woodlawn Realty Co had bought land from Ellen E. Huey sometime between 11 Jan 1883 and 23 Mar 1885. They either didn't record the transaction, or else the deed got lost. They were in court petitioning to have the deed re- established. The land involved was as follows: Jefferson County Alabama in the vicinity of Elyton - NE 1/4 of the NW 1/4 of Section 28, Township 17, Range 2W: 4 acres of land on the east side of the Georgia Dirt Road. Begin at a stake on the dirt road on the line of land formerly owned by Mrs. Frances C. Thornton and M. G. Wood. Go along the Georgia Dirt Road 360' south 37 degrees west to a stake in said road. Then 542 1/2 ' south 67.30 degrees east to a stake on the hill. Then 386 3/4 ' north 22.30 degrees east to the line of Thornton and Wood. Then 252' north 78.58 degrees west on the line of Thornton and Wood. Then 204' north 67.30 degrees west to the point of beginning. M. G. Wood and wife had sold this land to John B. and Ellen E. Huey on 11 Jan 1883. After John died, Ellen E. Huey sold the land to J. H. White sometime between 11 Jan 1883 and 23 Mar 1885. No one disputed the ownership of the land by J. H.
