Well, first of all I must tell you about our good meeting that is now in progress here. There was preaching on the first Sunday as usual and the meeting has been going on every since. We are having a glorious time. Dr. Lewis has been converted and joined the church and you know there was great rejoicing over him. Dr. Adams went to the alter last night and I do hope he will join the church before the meeting closes. We had a splendid Sunday School last Sunday. I wish you could be with us every Sunday, but however I hope it will not be long until you will be with us again. I went home with Mary the fifth Sunday and staid (stayed) until Monday evening. I had a very pleasant time. Dr John was there Sunday evening and you know it was very pleasant to be in his company. We had a very sad death here the 30th August. Mr. Henry Guthery died with brain fever. He lived only a few days after he was taken sick. I am sorry for his wife. Her mother was buried one Saturday and the next Saturday after, her husband died. I have not had any pictures taken yet. But I will soon as I can and I will not forget my promise. I want you to be sure and remember your promise . I will close hoping to here (hear) from you again soon. Respectfully. Hattie Green P.S. Mr. Pool, I must tell you something more about the meeting your uncle.
