Jordan, captain, 167th Infantry. For extraordinary heroism in action near Souain, France, July 15, 1918. Seeing a private of his company wounded by shell fire, Capt. Jordan left his shelter and rushed to the aid of the wounded man. After administering first aid he carried him through the terrific bombardment a distance of 150 yards to a place of safety.
