The Cullman Banner November 29, 1945
A discharged Navy veteran, Walter A. Beck, 38, was stabbed to death by his 
wife and a friend whom he found together in his home on Armistice Day when he 
returned to don his uniform for a parade.  Mrs.Tennie Beck, wife of the 
deceased and Louis Merkl are being held on a murder charge. All of the parties 
resided in Pratt City, Jefferson county.
