Birmingham Post-Herald, Wednesday, February 3, 1982
William Hooper Collier, 61, 3236 Salisbury Road, died yesterday.  Funeral 
10:30 a.m. tomorrow, St. Mary's on the Highlands Episcopal Church, burial in 
Oak Hill Cemetery, Johns-Ridout's Southside directing.  Practiced law in 
Birmingham 1950 to 1981.  Graduate Auburn University, law degree from 
University of Alabama, where he was member of the Law Review.  Captain Army in 
World War II, member St. Mary's on the Highlands Episcopal Church.  Survivors: 
wife, Dr. Maude Diseker Collier; daughter, Mary Martelle Collier, Birmingham; 
son, J.B. Collier, Birmingham; sister, Mary Collier McIntosh, Birmingham. 

Additional Comments:
Mr. Collier was the son of William Hooper Collier, Sr. and Mary Perry Bowers.  
He graduated from Auburn University in 1942 with a degree in Chemical 
Engineering.  He graduated from the University of Alabama Law School in 1949.  
He is buried in Block 4, Lot 28, at Oak Hill Cemetery in Birmingham, Jefferson 
County, Alabama.
