COOK COOK, AARON L. Age 86 of Birmingham, AL passed away on December 2, 2011. He was born on December 18, 1924 and was raised in rural Bibb County. Mr. Cook proudly served in the U.S. Army's 326 Glider Regiment during World War II. He returned home to attend Auburn University and graduated with a S.S> in Engineering in 1950. He worked as a professional engineer for over 40 years. Mr. Cook was a devoted husband and father; he is preceded in death by his parents, Eldridge and Sovella Cook, and brother James L. Cook. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Wilodean J. Cook; sons Dennis J. Cook and Ivan L. Cook; grandson Matthew T. Cook; brothers E. Jewel Cook and H. Carl Cook; sisters Sarah Venola Blackburn and Jessie Dean Shows and numerous nephews and nieces. Visitation will begin at noon, Tuesday, December 6, 2011 at Shades Mountain Baptist Church in Birmingham, AL followed by funeral services at 2:00 PM. Internment will be at Valhalla Cemetery. The family request that in lieu of flowers, memorial gifts be made to the Lion's Club. Services are under the direction of Ridout's Valley Chapel (879-3401) in Homewood, AL.
