T. DeJarnette Rites Arranged James T. DeJarnette, 59, of 1626 Sixth Avenue, Bessemer, a widely known Bessemer resident who has been connected with the L & N for the last 35 years, died at his home Tuesday afternoon. Funeral services will be held at the First Methodist Church at 4 p.m. Wednesday with burial in the Cedar Hill cemetery, with Jacobs in charge. DeJarnette was a member of the Democratic Executive Committee of Bessemer, the First Methodist Church, a Mason, Knight Templar and other fraternal organizations. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Daisy Marbut DeJarnette; four sons, Thomas H., David, Jane T. [should be James T.] and Mims DeJarnette; three brothers, Mims, Hugh M. and J. S. DeJarnette, the first two who are Birmingham residents and a sister, Mrs. Kate D. Myers. Active pallbearers include: L. E. Ling, H. H. Pendleton, Joe Scott, O. P. Dickey, Alex Carroll and H. W. Massey. Members of the Wesley Bible Class of the First Methodist Church, of Bessemer, will act as honorary pallbearers.
