Ashland Progress
Funeral rites for Mrs. Ethel Jordan, 78, of Pleasant Grove, were held at 2:30 
p.m., Sept. 10th at Bethel Baptist Church, with Rev. J. O. Hogan officiating with 
interment in Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Angwine Funeral Home directing. Mrs. Jordan 
passed away in a Bham hospital on Sept. 8th. She was an Ashland native, was a 
member of Ashland Methodist Church, but had lived near Bham for 23 years. 
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. George E. Green, Pleasant Grove; a son Maynard 
Oxford; three sisters, Mrs. Clarence Joiner, Tuscaloosa; Miss Pauline Harvell, 
Ashland; Mrs. Mamie Ogletree, Augusta, Ga. Two grandchildren, and five 
greatgrandchildren.
