It is from the Birmingham, Jefferson Co., AL. area. I do not think it relates to my LAVENDER line, which is Martha Virginia 'Jennie' LAVENDER, who married Millard EDNEY, date and location unknown, but guessing both born about 1845-1850. Mrs. Kate LAVENDER, age 77, 7721 1st Ave. N. passed away at a local infirmary Monday PM. Survived by 2 sons, Lt. Thomas Edward LAVENDER, US Navy; Hubert T. LAVENDER, Bham; 2 daughters, Mrs Will HOGAN, Bham; Mrs. Bessie TURNER, Fairfield; 1 sister, Mrs. J. S. SULLIVAN, Bham; 3 brothers, John L. LAVENDER, Bham; L. T. LAVENDER, LaGrange, GA; H. W. LAVENDER, Livingston, Ala; 11 gradnchildren, 9 great grandchildren. Funeral services from East Lake M.E. Church, Wed. 2 PM., Interment East Lake Cemetery, Rev. R. L. DILL, Rev. Wilkie COLLINS, and Rev. ABERNATHY officiating. Active pallbearers, James WEAVER, Cecil WILKERSON, Jack JONES, Frank EPPS, Vernon VANDERGRIFT, Bryan CHANCEY.
