Herring (Lewis William Herring) Deed To 1/2 Store House & Lot The State of Alabama Jefferson County I, Lewis W. Herring of Springville St Clair County and State aforesaid, have this day bargained and sold and so hereby transfer and convey to Mitchell Pool of the County of Jefferson and State of Alabama, and to his heirs and assigns, for the Consideration of Three Hundred and Fifty Dollars to me in hand paid for the one half of the undivided interest in a lot of land and buildings at Cedar Grove (a Store House, Salt House Two Dwelling House, Cribs & Stables & the half of my interest in the well & wellhouse. The lot intended to be describe of the half of which is hereby conveyed is bounded as follows_ Fronting on the public road Eighteen Rods, then beginning at the road near the well and running south west through t he well and well house so as to include half the well and house _? rods to the Apple orchard thence N.E. 4 3/4 rod, to the corner of the Horse lot, thence N.W. along said lot fence around to the S.E. corner of said horse lot. Thence N.E. along the peach orchard fence until it reaches a point parallel to the S.E. corner of said lot, thence South East to t he road ? rod, thence 18 rods to the beginning comes as aforesaid, along said road (The wagon shed and a right of weigh 16 feet wide beginning at t he wagon shed at lower end from the road to the peach orchard through said ? is excepted & granted to W. P. Herring (Comment: Suspect name is William Pool Herring) & his assigns) The said lot contains 1 1/2 acres more or less, together with one half of all the weights measures & buildings and all other articles in which I am interested, also 1/2 the Estate right title and claim, to have and to hold the same to the said Mitchell Pool his heirs and assigns forever. I do covenant to the said Mitchell Pool, that I am lawfully seized of said lot, have a good right to convey it. I will warrant & forever defend the title to the said lot & premises against the lawful claim of all persons whatsoever.
