Mer I M Pool Dear Cousin It is within gratis of pleasure that I write you a short letter this morning to inform you that I reached home last night at seven o'clock. All ok though sorry to say I found Nick (William Nicholas Rogers - Cora's brother) right sick. He is some better this morning. I had quite a nice time after I left Atlanta with a batchler (bachelor) and so the time did not seem as long to me. I laid over one five at Kingston. I have no news to advise you this time. They are all so ill in Chattooga. The last account I saw a friend of mine from there this ___ but did not talk to him any, as I was on the street they live. Just had a perfect flood in Chattooga. Washed the Summerville Bridge away and part of the _____ Bridge. Crops were all just ruined. Just all floated off it was such a pity as crops were so very good there on the river this year. Please tell Willie (William Newton Pool) and Jack (Alonzo Jackson Pool) not to get amd with me for I forgot to tell him good buy when I started and besides I did not ask Aunt Martha (Martha Strickland Pool - Cora's mother, Mary Jane Strickland's sister) to come to see us but as she must not get mad with us for I was so troubled about coming off leaving Betti (Mary Elizabeth Rogers - Cora's sister) sick. Well as I have such a bad fuss to write with and will close by asking you to write soon and a long letter. Give my love to all and keep "Poolion" for yourself. As ever, Your Loving Cousin Cora P.S. I forgot to tell you that I went to town this morning and I have a place to stay. I will go to work to ___.
