This photo of Burl Lee Seritt, Sr. was likely taken in Birmingham, Jefferson County, Alabama.  It was taken 
by his son-in-law, Ray Rawson, who had married Burl's only daughter, Dorothy Mae Seritt.

Burl, Sr. married Mary Elizabeth Burgess.  He died from Black Lung Disease, caused by his many years of 
working in the coal mines in the Birmingham area.  He is buried in the Union Baptist Church Cemetery, 
Lipscomb, Alabama.  Also buried in the same plot are Burl Lee Seritt, Jr. (who died in infancy) and Jack 
(Jackie) Allen Seritt, Burl, Sr.'s grandson.  Jack died in a house fire in the 1960s at the age of 5 
months.
