Part of Bill of Complaint filed 22 Nov 1887 in Jefferson Co AL:

Gabriella D. Muse vs. John J. Muse
J. J. L. DuBrutz, father of Gabriella, files as 'next friend.'

John J. Muse was 25 at time of filing, a resident of Yazoo Co MS
Gabriella was 46, a resident of Jefferson Co AL
J. J. L. DuBrutz was 73, a resident of Jefferson Co AL. 

Information from Complaint:  In 1884/5, J. J. L. DuBrutz lived in Bibb County 
AL.  Gabriella DuBrutz, his daughter, and John J. Muse of Yazoo Co MS were married 29 January 1885 at the 
home of the father of the groom in Yazoo Co MS.  
John and Gabriella moved to their plantation the next day, twelve miles from his parents, still in Yazoo Co 
MS.

The couple received a divorce 4 January 1888.

Additional Comments:
The bill of complaint mentions a negro woman named Emily.

John Muse's father is not named, but mention is made of a letter received by John's stepmother and father.  
So in 1885 John's father was married to a second (or third) wife.
