This file is copyrighted and contributed by: Kawatha "Kay" Koonce ==================================================================== February 2003 OLD MOSCOW CEMETERY, LAMAR, ALABAMA Old Moscow/Armstrong #183 On the 2002 Cemetery Map of Lamar County, Alabama (Also has been called Mulberry Springs and Chincopen from the Notes of Mrs. Maggie Lee Hayes) It is believed that the Old Chincopen Church was located in the vicinity of this cemetery. Take Highway 17 North from Vernon to Mulberry Road, inside the City Limits of Sulligent, turn right and go aprox. 3 miles and the Cemetery is on the left. It is easily identified by a concrete retaining wall on the south end of the cemetery. Martha A. Trotter- Dec. 23 1837- April 11, 1928 J. W. McDaniel - 1832-1890 ( This is my Great Great Grandfather John Walton McDaniel. I have copies of the original Bible records that show him born 25 Oct. , 1832 and died 21 Nov., 1890) Nancy A. McDaniel- 1825- 1881. ( This is Nancy Ann Holladay/Holliday McDaniel, wife of John Walton McDaniel. From the Bible records she was born 28 June, 1825 and died 21 Jan., 1881) Mary S.- Daughter of G. G. & L. M. Holladay- Died March 3, 1857- 3 Mos. , 17 Days Hazzie Hill Woods- Nov. 20, 1871- Nov. 7, 1946 William Jefferson Hill- Born Aug. 20, 1861- Died Oct. 5, 1922 Myrtle B.- Wife of E. T. Hill - Dec 1, 1894 - Sept. 11, 1921 Elvira Hill- Born 1868- Died Oct 12, 1932 Jessie- Daughter of Dr. J. A. & R. O. W. Brown - Died July 26, 1876 - Age 4 Days Emily- Wife of Joseph Clifton- Born Sept 28, 1823- Died Feb 23, 1891 Double Monument- Armstrong: James A. Sept. 21, 1846- Jan. 5, 1905 Ella Clifton- Aug 31, 1850- June 13, 1922 Sacred to the Memory of Jane Bankhead who died Oct. 27th 1856 aged 78 years 2 months 4 days Sacred to the Memory of John Bankhead who died March 1st 1842 Aged 62 years Infant Daughter of J. H. Bankhead (no dates on Monument) Mrs. Isaac Hill (No Dates On Monument) Samp (Sampson) L. Lollar- Born Oct. 25, 1845- Died Nov. 14, 1904 Broken Ceramic Marker- W. S. Lollar Born 11-4-18-- Died Oct 9, 18-- From recently furnished letters of the Hollis Family it is stated that Brunson Hollis born Abt.1804 in Fairfield County, S.
