S t a t e  o f  Ala.} 
Sanford   County} 

             [K]now all men by these presents that I, 
Wm. M. DAVIS & H. DAVIS his wife do for the [and] in 
consideration of the Sum of eight hundred Dolls. to us in 
hand paid by LEVI NORTHINGTON doth grant bargain 
Sell Convey & deliver unto the said NORTHINGTON his 
heirs or assigns the following Tract or Parcel of Land viz: 
the NE ¼ and NE ¼ of[f] of  NW ¼,  NW ¼ of  SE ¼ also 
SE ¼ of  NW ¼  except 15 acres more or less in the SW 
corner separated by line beginning at the SE corner and 
thence NW direction to a certain Pine tree Standing on the 
East Side of Tuscumbia & Aberdeen Road near the corner of 
Geardern (?) now occupied by Wm. Y. ALLEN and thence 
North along Said Road  to a certain Gum Stump Standing 
on the West side of Said Road thence from Said Stump 
a West direction to the west boundary line of the SE ¼ 
of the NW ¼ of Sect. 7  Township (12) Range 15 West, 
containing in all 265 acres more or less according to the 
survey -- the title of which we forever warrant and 
defend unto the Said LEVI NORTHINGTON his heirs and 
assigns.  In witness where of we have hereunto set our 
hands & Seals this September 3rd  1874.

they both signed the same as their own free & voluntary act,  In 
witness where of I here Set my hand & Seal on this
