Greer, Fayette County One of the Justice of the Peace in and for said state and county hereby certify that Ruhamah Aldridge, Mary E. Greer, and W. P. Aldridge all appeared before me on this day and bring by me sworn affadavtts of law deposied that the said Ruhamah Aldridge is the wife of James Aldridge deceased who was a private in Capt John M. Jeffries Company, Col. Tolbert Regiment and who departed this life leaving a wife and three children as they are credibly informed and believes that on the 6th day of Dec, as above stated, 1862, all of which is sworn to and ---- before me this Jan 13 and 1865. Ruhamah Aldridge, Just Wm M. Greer, Justice of the Peace, W. P. Aldridge (His mark), A. E. Pedd. State of Alabama, Fayette County Know all men by these present that I Ruhama Aldridge of said county do by these ------ make considered a ----- P. W. Aldridge of the state and county mentioned above ---- my true and lawfull attorney for me and in my name to coffer(?) all moneys that may ---- ---- be due to my husband deceased for his services as a soldier of the Confederate army hereby giving and granting unto my said attorney my full power in the ------ as to the collecting and receipting of the same and I hereby him my self, my heirs, and ------ by whatever my said attorney lawfully do in the ----- just as effectively as if the same were done by myself in person by testimony of all of which I here unto set my name and seal this January 13 day of 1863. Greer, a Justice of the Peace in and for said state and county hereby certify that the witnesses whose names are signed to the foregoing affadavitt testified before me as therein stated on the day and of the date therof and that they are credible witnesses. I further certify that Ruhamah Aldridge whose name appears to the foregoing power of attorney signed the same in my presence on this day for the express purposes therein contained being by me fully informed of the contents in testimony of all of which I hereunto set my name and off in my official signature at office this january 13, 1863.
