R. Hilburn and daughter of Marsh and Elizabeth Ayers. She leaves a husband and five little children to mourn her death. Lamar News, March 24, 1887, Page 3 DIED: On the 15th of March 1887 of apoplexy Serena J., wife of J. R. Hilburn and daughter of Mr. Marsh and Elizabeth Ayers. She was called away without any warning, leaving a heart-stricken husband and five little children with many friends to mourn their loss. By T. T. Hilburn Additional Information: Serena Ayers married John Rose Hilburn on October 31, 1878 in Lamar County, Alabama. She is buried in the Shiloh Methodist Episcopal Church Cemetery, Hightogy, Lamar County, Alabama. Her husband is buried in Sand Springs Cemetery, Mineola, Wood County, Texas.
