Last Monday evening half mile from Fern bank on the road leading to Vernon, 
Mr. AUS JORDAN met a horrible and sad death by falling from his wagon which 
ran over him breaking his neck, crushing his jaw bones and shoulder. The wagon 
was loaded with 1300 pounds of goods. Mr. JORDAN had been drinking some in 
Fern bank, and it is supposed that he lost his balance on top of the wagon 
causing him to fall, and rush into eternity without a moments warning.
