Mr. WILLIAM MATTISON, an aged and much beloved old gentleman, died at his home 
four miles west of town on the night of the 16th.  He was known by a large 
number of friends and all called him “Uncle BILLY”.  He had a kind and pleasant 
word for all he met, and was a friend to every man of his acquaintance.  His 
many kind and lovable traits will live long in the memory of his friends.
