PETER MCGEE an old and respectable citizen eight miles south of here died last Thursday night, was interred on Saturday at Walnut Grove Church. Lamar News, April 21, 1887, Page 3 We have recently been informed of the death on the night of the 7th inst., of the Rev. PETER MCGEE who lived some 11 miles northwest of Kingville. Mr. MCGEE has long been an earnest Minister of the Free Will Baptist Church, and one of Lamar’s best citizens. He leaves many relatives and friends to mourn their loss, but, bless God, we have an inward assurance that their loss has proven to be his eternal gain. “Uncle Peter” was a good man, and let all prepare to meet him in that beautiful Land, where no storms ever beat on that glittering stand, while the years of eternity roll.
