J. W. HANNAH was born at Aberdeen, Miss., 1847; was educated in Scotland, and served four years in the British naval service. He returned to America in 1866; took a tour to the far west; joined the "Patriots" and made a fillibustering trip with them into Mexico, where he joined Maximilian's army at Acupulco. It appears that he only remained in Mexico about two months, and, as we find that he exchanged a diamond pin presented to him by his sister for a pound of tobacco, we opine that he did not "fare sumptuously" while sojourning in the sister republic. He is now settled down in Lauderdale County, married, and is devoting his time to farming as a science.
