Ann Harvey to Susannah Neal Dec 28 1840  Bk K pg 98

This Indenture made and entered into this the 28 day of December 1840 between Ann
Harvey of the first part, Reese P Hughes of the second part & Susanna R. Neal
formerly Farley  and daughter of said Ann.

Witnesseth that the said Ann Harvey for and in consideration of the natural love and
affection, she bears to her daughter aforesaid and in further consideration of the
sum of five dollars to her in hand paid by Reece P. Hughes, the receipt of which is
hereby acknowledged hath granted, bargained and sold and by these present doth grant
bargain & sell unto the said Reece P. Hughes and his executors and Administrators
the following named slaves to wit:

Robert about ten years & Solomon about four years to have and to hold unto the said
Hughes his executors and administrators forever upon this trust nevertheless; the
said Hughes is to hold the said slaved to the sole & separate use of, benefit &
behoof of the said Susanna & for the maintenance & support of her the said Susanna &
her children living with her, free from the control & dominion of her husband &
exempt from any claim or demand in respect of the conditions of her husband provided
that the said Hughes shall suffer the said Susanna to remain in the possession of
the said negroes and to enjoy the fruits of their labor until the death of the said
Susannah upon the happening...the said slaves are to be divided equally among the
her children generally. In testimony whereof ...have hereto set their hands ..on
this 28 December 1840.
