Indenture of Kezia Berryman to grandchildren - Lawrence Co., AL

This indenture made and entered into this 22nd day of September 1847 between 
Kezia Berryman of the County of Lawrence and State of Alabama of the first 
part and Jane Berryman, Kezia Berryman, grand daughters, and Anderson 
Berryman, Philx Berryman, grand sons of the before named Kezia Berryman of 
the same County and State of the second part.  Witnesseth, for and in 
consideration of the natural love and affection which I bear unto the said 
party of the second the younger, and also for and in consideration of the sum 
of one dollar to me in hand paid by the party of the second part receipt 
whereof is hereby acknowledged have given, aliened, enfeoffed and confirmed 
and by these presents do [several illegible words] assigns the following 
tract or parcel of land situate lying and being in the County of Lawrence 
and State of Alabama To wit the West 1/2 of the South West 1/2 of Section 
No. 33 of the Township No.  5 of Range No. 9 West with all and singular the 
appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining.  To have and 
to hold unto the parties of the second part, and to their heirs and assigns 
forever.  In witness whereof the party of the first part have hereunto set 
her hand and seal the day and date above written.

This day personally appeared before me Elijah S. Masterson, an acting 
Justice of the Peace in and for sd. County Keziah Berryman whose signature 
is assigned to the within deed and acknowledged that she signed sealed and 
delivered the same for the purposes therein [illegible word].  In testimony 
whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal and certify the 
same for recording this 22nd day of September 1847.

I Wiley Galloway clerk of the County Court of said County certify that the 
foregoing deed was deposited in my office for registration on the 17th day 
of January 1848 and was this day duly recorded in Deed Book M page 51.
In testimony whereof I hereunto set my name at office the 17th day of 
January 1848.
