McCarver, John Nolen, Henry Nolen, Wm. A Boyce, Thomas Childs all of Franklin county State of Alabama should there be errors of form or substance, have the kindness to point them out at as early as day as you conveniently can, directed to the care of Robert A. Cleere Mount Hope Post Office Lawrence county, State of Alabama so that the applicants may have the needful corrections made, so as to enable them to obtain the benefit of the act as soon as they can, and you will oblige, Your obedient servant, David Hubbard Hon. Dickinson Washington DC May 28, 5_ State of Alabama County of Lawrence I hereby certify that Robert H. Cleere Esq., before whom the foregoing declaration and affidavit were made, is and was at the time of taking the same, an acting Justice of the Peace within and for the County and State aforesaid, duly commissioned and qualified, and that his signature to the foregoing certificate is genuine. In Testimony whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and affixed the seal of my office this 23 day of May 1855 H.A. McGhee P.J. Declaration of a Soldier who has received a Land Warrant Less than 160 Acres State of Alabama County of Lawrence Co. On this 22nd day of May 1855 personally appeared before me, a Justice of the Peace within ad for the county and State aforesaid (1) Hubbard J. McCarver aged (2) 66 years a resident of the county of (3) Lawrence State of Alabama who being duly sworn, according to law, declares that he is the identical person who served in the company commanded by Captain (4) Wm. Russell in the regiment of (5) volunteers militia, commanded by Col. (6) Gibson in the war with (7) the Creek Indians and continued in actual servide in said war for the term of at least 14 days that he has heretofore made application for Bounty Land under the act of September 28th 1850, (to which he now refers for particulars of his service) upon which he has received a Land Warrant for (8) Eighty acres and (9) No._______ which he has legally disposed of, and cannot now return. He makes this declaration to obtain the Bounty Land to which he may be entitled under the act of Congress approved the third day of March 1855. He further declares that he has not received nor applied for Bounty Land under this or any other acts of Congress, except as above states. J.P. Dickinson, of Washington DC is hereby authorized to prosecute this my claim, and to receive any warrant which may be issued hereon. Hubbard (my mark) J. McCarver Affidavit of Two Witnesses We, Jno. M. clark and J. P. McGaughy residents of the county of Lawrence State of Alabama upon our oaths, declare that the foregoing declaration was signed and acknowledged by H.J. McCarver in our presence; and that we believe, from the appearance and statements of the applicant, that he is the identical person he represents himself to be; and that we have no interest in this claim. McGaughy Magistrate's Office The foregoing declaration and affidavit were sworn to and subscribed before me, on the day and year above written; and I certify that I know the affiants to be credible persons; that the claimant is the person he represents himself to be, and that I have no interest in this claim. R. H. Cleere State of Alabama County of Lawrence On this twentieth day of November A.D. one thousand eight hundred and fifty personally appeared before me, a Justice of the Peace, within and for the county and State aforesaid, Hubbard J. McCarver aged sixty one years a resident of Lawrence County in the State of Alabama, who being duly sworn according to Law, declares that he is the identical H.J. McCarver who was a private in the company commanded by Captain William Russell in the first regiment of Volunteers Commanded by Genl John Coffee in the war with the Creek Indians that he volunteered at Winchester Tenn on or about the twentieth of September AD one thousand eight hundred and fourteen for the term of six months and continued in actual service in said war for the term of six months and was honorably discharged at Winchester Tenn on the 27th day of March A.D. 1815 as will appear the expedition was commanded by Genl Blue Hubbard (my mark) J. McCarver He makes this declaration for the purpose of obtaining the Bounty Land to which he may be entitled, under the "act granting Bounty Land to certain Officers and Soldiers who have been engaged in the military service of the United States," passed September 28th 1850 Sworn to and subscribed before me the day and year above written. And I hereby certify, that I believe the said Hubbard J. McCarver to be the identical man who served as aforesaid; and that he is of the age above stated. Wilson H. Martin J.P. State of Alabama Lawrence County, I, Henry A. McGhee Judge of the Probate Court of said County, (and by virtue of said office also Clerk of said Court) hereby certify that Wilson H. Martin is a Justice of the Peace, in and for said County, duly commissioned and qualified; and that the foregoing signature purporting to be his is genuine.
