All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/al/alfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Charity Goodwin littledoddlebit@aol.com January 16, 2004, 10:25 pm Revolutionary Soldier James Dougan July 1837 ) State of Tennessee) Franklin County ) Be known that at the July term of the Circuit Court holden for the County aforesaid, at the Courthouse in the town of Winchester on the 26th day of July 1837, personally appeared in open Court, Mary Noe of Franklin, Tennessee, and Travis Barbee of Lawrence County, Alabama, and Satisfactorily proved to the Court that Mary, who intermarried with Peter Noe, Margaret who intermarried with Travis Barbee of Lawrence County, Alabama, Agness who intermarried with Dennis Dallis of Morgan County, Alabama, Jane Doudan of Lawrence County Alabama, Robert C.J. Dougan of Fayette County, Tennessee and Sharp Dougan of Marshall County, Alabama, dec'd, who died on the 10th day of February 1837 leaving at the time of his death no widow and that at the United States under the Act if Congress of the 7th day of June 1832 and was the identical James Dougan mentioned in as original pension certificate in his possession on the day of his death and which is here shown to the Court and of which the following is a true copy, viz: War Department Revolutionary Claim I certify that in conformity with the law of the United States of the 7th day of June 1832. James Dougan of the State of Tennessee who was an Ensign Lieutenant and Major in the Army of the Revolution is entitled to receive Two Hundred and One dollards and Sixty Six cents per annum during his natural life; commencing on the 4th day of March 1836, and payable semi-annually on the 4th day of March and the 4th day of September in every year.
