She was married to James N. Masterson on March 28, 1843; was happily converted in 1839 and joined the Missionary Baptist Church at Bethel in Lawrence County, Alabama. She was the mother of six, grandmother of nineteen children. The names of her children are as follows: Dr. John P. Masterson, who lives in the West, Dr. W. T. Masterson and Col. G. M. Masterson of Oakman, James Masterson of Lawrence County, Mrs. Dr. Stephenson of Birmingham and Mrs. Kirby, deceased, of Lawrence County.
