Roden Circuit Court Lawrence County Alabama { FILED SEPT. 9, 1924 } The State Of Alabama, } Lawrence County,.... } PETITION IN THE CIRCUIT COURT IN EQUITY LAWRENCE COUNTY, ALABAMA: TO THE HONORIBLE JUDGE OF SAID COURT: Your potitioner, Austin R. Roden, of Lawrence County, Alabama, would state and show unto your honor, that he is a bonafide resident of Lawrence County, Alabama over the age of twenty one years, that he is an able bodied and fully capable of supporting a family. That in the year this petitioner's wife Myrtle L. Roden wife of Petitioner filed her bill in this Honarable Court for divorce, and a decree of divorce, and a decree of divorce was granted her which decree gave her the right to again contract marriage. Your petitioner was not granted such relief or privaliage and petitioner would also show that he is an able bodied man twenty eight years of age, and works hard at his calling, and is a man of good moral character, and petitioner brings these facts before your Honor asking that you grant him a divorce allowing him to again contract a marriage. Roden, and has known him for several years, and knows him to be a hard working man, working most of his time on public works at various places, that he resides near Town Creek in Lawrence County, Alabama. He is an able bodied man of good habits, and capable of supporting a family. He is of good moral character, and about twenty eight years of age. He knows him to be an honest conscientions Man, who works hard at his calling being employed most all his time as a laberer at Public Works of various kinds. He is a stout able bodied Man, about twenty eight years of age, and is a Man of good reputation and of good Moral habits and character. Her great grandfather was an attourney in Alabama between 1900-1930. She had many court and office records. The Lawrence County Archives acquired the remainder of her collection. It was a wonderful way for her to preserve her grandfathers years of work, and a great was to helping us to preserve the heritage of our family member who have gone before us.
