Her parents were Henry Weaver and Permelia Deloach. Ann was in Russell County, Alabama in 1860. She was married to George W. Watson in April of that year and J.W. DeLoach was her guardian. George and Ann began their life together and started a family. They lived near to George's parents and his siblings. Ann's brother, Thomas ,and her uncle, Larkin Weaver, also lived nearby. War came to the south and to Alabama in 1861. Ann's husband enlisted with the 45th Alabama Infantry. Ann's brother, Thomas J. Weaver joined with George and then went off to war together. Thomas had married George's sister, Susan A.R. Watson earlier in 1858. George was in battle at Stone's River in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Thomas was captured during the Atlanta Campaign near Dallas, Georgia and was later paroled and exchanged. After the war Ann and George resumed their lives and endured the Reconstruction era. In 1866 a new county was created. The Watsons now lived in this new county of Lee. It was created from portions of Chambers, Russell, and Tallapoosa counties. Ann and George had 9 children by 1880 and they lived in Ridgegrove west of Opelika in Lee County. In 1896 Ann lost her husband. He was killed in a dispute with a neighbor over hired help. He was buried at Farmville Cemetery in Lee County and this left her a widow. She applied for pension as a widow of a Confederate Soldier. In 1909 Ann purchased land in the Southeast 1/4 of Section 27, Township 20, Range 25. By the next year when the census was taken she was living with her son William and his family. She passed away in 1917 in Lanett, Chambers County, Alabama. Ann and George had 10 children and the census of 1900 indicated that 7 of those children were living.
