John Luther McGinty was born in Beulah, Lee County, Alabama
to Pinckney Harrington McGinty (b. 6 July 1839 i Osanippa, Alabama)
and Celia Toland Pitts McGinty (b. 2 January 1839 in Chambers County,
Alabama).  He died in Fairfax, Chambers County, Alabama on April 12, 
1963.  He was buried in the Marseilles Cemetery, West Point, Alabama
He was survived by his wife, two daughters, three sons, and a brother
(from his obituary in the Valley Times, Monday, April 15th, 1963).
