BARR She Expired Sunday Night, After an Illness of Two Months. Mrs. Harriett Byrd Barr, wife of Mr. Wm. J. Barr, died at the family residence four miles north of the city, in Alabama, at 11:30 o’clock Sunday night, after an illness of two months. She was the daughter of William and Nancy Byrd, and was born in Houston county, Ga., in April, 1822, and removed to Alabama in 1857 [sic must be 1837]. She was married to Mr. Wm. J. Barr, in March, 1843, and lived with him happily until her death. The deceased was 75 years of age, and has been a constant member of the Methodist church ever since her childhood days. She had been a member of the St. Luke church for a number of years. The deceased is survived by her husband, four sons and three daughters. Mr. John W. Barr, of Cedartown, Ga., William T. Barr and Geo F. Barr of this city, Mr. Chas B. Barr of Summerville, Mrs. Thos. Gibson of Apalachicola, Fla., Mrs. Chas. Lowther of Lee County, Ala., and Miss Lizzie Barr. The funeral will take place from Mount Zion church at 10 o’clock this morning, Rev. C. E. Dowman will the services. The interment will occur at Mount Zion burying ground.
