SMITH SET FOR SUNDAY O. B. Smith, 68, resident of Opelika Route 3, passed away Friday morning from a heart disease. He had been ill for several months. A native of Tallapoosa County, he had resided in Lee County most of his life. He was a member of the Baptist Church. His body was taken to the home of a son in Langdale today and funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. (EST) from the Langdale Baptist Church. Rev. Clyde Allen will officiate and burial will be in Rosemere Cemetery in Opelika. Survivors include two sons, Bruce Smith of Langdale and Guy Smith, now in service in Kentucky; three daughters, Mrs. Lillian Langley of West Point, Mrs. Gladys Akins of Opelika and Mrs. Mazie Irvin of Lanett. Also several neices and nephews survive. Short Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Additional Comments: Obediah B. Smith was born April 24, 1886 and died in Tuscaloosa Co., AL. He married Frances Annie Lauderdale April 2, 1911 in Lafayette, Chambers Co., AL.
