Opelika Daily News, Thursday, October 3, 1912
  Mr Micajah Thomas who has been ill several months, passed away at his home a 
few miles below Ridge Grove Tuesday and the remains will be laid to rest in 
the Farmville cemetery today at 2 pm. A good man has passed to his reward. 
Truly, the sheaf was ripe for the Master. He was a consistent member of the 
Baptist Farmville church, a loving father and husband, and a friend and 
neighbor to all. 

Additional Comments:
Micajah Thomas was born July 31, 1840, Gold Hill, Chambers County (now Lee 
Co), AL. He married Carrie Watson (Jan. 8, 1852 - July 18, 1926) Jan. 20, 1870 
near Opelika, Lee Co, AL.
