Back of postcard featuring Pea Ridge Covered Bridge. PEA RIDGE COVERED BRIDGE over Wacoochee Creek. Lee County, Alabama Turn near Salem at Wacoochee School, bridge is about 3 mi. off U.S.280, south of Opelika. Listed in WORLD GUIDE TO COVERED BRIDGES as no.01-41-4, Pine Grove Community, on Shotwell Road, 1 span, 58’ long, Town Truss construction. This fine wooden- pegged bridge is one of the bridges that the ALA- BAMA HISTORICAL COMMISSION and interested Lee Countians are endeavoring to preserve. Additional Comments: The remains of the bridge were saved and moved to Opelika Rec.
