This Quadrant of the church property was already being utilized at that time as an indian burial ground. With the majority of the Indians being removed to Oklahoma, this area was then converted to a burial ground for Negro slaves. After the War Between The States, Negro burials were continued for a while. The number of unmarked graves in this area is not recorded. This monument erected in loving memory of those buried in this quadrant by the members of Concord Baptist Church 1978 File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/al/lee/photos/tombstones/concordbaptistch/marker4811gph.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/alfiles/ File size: 1.6 Kb
